OverviewMost ZIEHL-ABEGG external-rotor motors are fitted with thermostatic switches (TB). Explosion-proof external-rotor motors include temperature probes (TP). IEC-standard motors may integrate TP or PTC thermistors. Commercial motor protectors or bimetal line releases that operate only on current or temperature often provide incomplete protection. ZIEHL-ABEGG motor protection devices deliver reliable protection and monitoring, including for motors driven by voltage control or operating at high switching frequency. The devices prevent automatic restart after a fault-related cool-down and allow protection of multiple motors by a single unit.
