General description
The OCTOPUS system is a vacuum gripping solution designed for high operational flexibility for palletising robots and vacuum gripping applications. It allows gripping objects of varied shapes and materials (unless excessive transpiration) without needing to place or change individual vacuum cups, even when the object's surface occupies only a small percentage of the suction plate. The maximum liftable weight is proportional to the effective gripping surface.

Standard composition

• One or two compressed air-fed vacuum generators (to be ordered separately in most versions).
• An anodised aluminium box, open on one side, with an internal micro-fine stainless steel mesh filter protecting the vacuum generator and easy to inspect.
• A suction plate sealing the box, made of anodised aluminium with equidistant calibrated holes and coated with special perforated foam rubber, allowing adaptation to smooth, rough or irregular surfaces.
• Top-side connections on the box for installation of control devices or solenoid valves to quickly restore atmospheric pressure when required.

PVE variants include shut-off valves per vacuum cup support.

Bag gripping plates (PJ)

• PJ series designed to grip paper or plastic bags with powders, granules, liquids etc.; examples: PJ0712, PJ0808, PJ1520, PJ2030, PJ2040, PJ2060, PJ3040, PJ3050, PJ4060.

Accessories and spare parts

• Digital vacuum switches (1/8” gas axial), electrical cables with axial or radial connectors, vacuum gauges (Ø40 mm), pressure gauges (Ø40 mm), silencers, sealing kits and reed valves, stainless steel disc filters, supports for vacuum cups with calibrated hole, shut-off valves, various kits and spare items.

Notes on customization
OCTOPUS systems can be supplied on request in custom dimensions, with different vacuum tables, vacuum generators, and can be made lighter using thermoplastic material (Polizene) to reduce weight by about 40%. Some special products can be produced by 3D printing in colours (blue, black, white, red).

• Interchangeability: many suction plate families are interchangeable across OCTOPUS systems and bars.
