STS Handling is the trading name of Bespoke Handling Equipment Ltd. We design and manufacture drum handling equipment at our own factory in the United Kingdom, and have done since 1999.
We are specialists rather than a general materials handling supplier. Almost everything we build exists to move, lift, tip, rotate, weigh or mix drums. Our range covers manual, electric and pneumatic drum lifters and drum tippers, over-pallet and counterbalance geometries, drum rotators for forklifts and cranes, drum trolleys, dollies and cradles, drum mixers and tumblers, gas cylinder trolleys and lifters, and ATEX pedestrian stacker trucks.
Our equipment handles drums from 50 to 220 litres (approximately 13 to 58 US gallons, including standard 205 litre / 55 gallon drums) in steel, L-ring and MAUSER plastic, HDPE and fibreboard. Units are available in 304-grade stainless steel for pharmaceutical, food and cleanroom environments, and in ATEX/UKEX-certified form for Zone 1, 2, 21 and 22 hazardous areas.
Every unit is designed, built and tested in our own factory. Equipment is supplied with a load test certificate, a Declaration of Conformity, an operation manual and a two-year warranty, and complies with the Manual Handling Operations Regulations. We supply industries where safety and compliance are closely scrutinised: pharmaceutical, food, chemical, paint and coatings, petrochemical, nuclear and defence.
We ship worldwide and work with distributors internationally.

Experts We have worked with drums since 1999, first as handlers on the shop floor and since then as designers and engineers. That matters, because drum handling is made of details that only show up in use: an L-ring that fouls a clamp, a bund wall a straddle leg cannot clear, an HDPE drum that slips inside a band. Our equipment is in service worldwide in nuclear, defence, petrochemical, food and pharmaceutical plants. Tell us about your process and we will specify against it, not against a catalogue page.
Exceptional We build to a standard, not to a price. Poorly made handling equipment puts operators at risk, particularly with heavy loads and repeated use. We source our steel from trusted suppliers, and we design, build, test and quality-control every unit in our own UK factory. All equipment complies with the Manual Handling Operations Regulations and is supplied with a load test certificate and a Declaration of Conformity. Spare parts are held in stock, so the machine stays in service.
Helpful We will not sell you a unit you do not need. If a manual lifter suits your duty cycle, we will tell you so rather than quote you an electric one. Every purchase is backed by our sale-or-return guarantee, so you can prove the machine works in your own process before committing to it. All units come with technical support and a two-year warranty, and free instructional videos are available on our website.
Responsible We are a manufacturer, not a distributor, and we take responsibility for what leaves our factory. Every product complies with the Manual Handling Operations Regulations, and we build ATEX/UKEX-certified equipment for Zone 1, 2, 21 and 22 areas. On every unit we verify electrical continuity throughout, so no component can hold an isolated static charge. We supply nuclear, defence and petrochemical sites where exactly this is checked. Innovative STS began in 1999 with an award-winning drum trolley, and we have grown by solving problems that had no product. We modify standard machines — longer reach, higher lift, integrated weigh scales, bespoke catches for screw-top and non-standard drums — and we design complete machines from scratch where nothing standard will work.
