ATEXINDUSTRIES?

Explosion proof portable work lighting

We do portable.

Atexindustries is a part of the Optilight group, which started selling portable equipment in 1996.

At Optilight we were one of the first to offer portable ATEX luminaires when the ATEX regulations came into force. And although we still supply non-ATEX certified equipment, we continued from 2017 as Atexindustries.

Thus, Atexindustries became a long-term specialist in ATEX certified portable or mobile work lights.
We supply the best portable floodlights: The Ultra series.
Using the Ultra2 or Ultra3 floodlights for your work means saving money from day one while working in an easier way.

Our luminaires are used everywhere in worldwide industries, you will find our customers in:

- Oil and petrochemical industry
- Chemical industry
- Tankstorage
- Onshore and offshore
- Oiltankers
- Aircraft industry
- Shipbuilding
- Suppliers (maintenance, cleaning, painting, blasting companies, etc.)

We are located in Woudrichem in the Netherlanda, where the two large rivers Rhine and the Meus meet.

- approx 150 km from Germany
- approx 90 km from Antwerp
- approx 50 km from Rotterdam
- approx 85 km from Amsterdam

Our values

A new development, a new concept

When we started with the development of new work lights, the Ultra2 and Ultra3, a couple of choices had to be made. Were we to continue with good old tubular lights? Very common and easy to produce, but difficult to position, to fasten and to direct? Or would it be a better choice to use an existing floodlight with the usual metal housing? And what about a rechargeable solution?

The choices we made represent the values we stand for.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT HOUSING MATERIAL

We decided to design from scratch as you then can work without compromise.

Metal casing was out of question, due to its heavy weight and it’s requirement for a bonding or earthing wire. Polycarbonate with its questionable antistatic properties offered no solution. We chose full maintenance-free and throughout antistatic polypropylene and a new housing design with rounded, less injurious corners and a large comfortable grip. Stainless steel bolts and a diffusor of hardened glass are the further ingredients for a state-of-the-art lasting product.

RECHARGEABLE

Rechargeable has without doubt many advantages compared to external powered lamps. No hassle with cables or plugs, no need for power-supply, distribution boxes or transformers. Easy to use in hard-to-reach places, like in large confined spaces or high towers. Tanks, catalytic convertors, floating tank roofs with restricting power cable length: a common problem. Start saving, start working more ecomically and easier bij having a propfessional quality rechargeable flood light, the UltraXL

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR A GOOD RECHARGEABLE WORK LIGHT?

A wide beam, covering a large part of the workspace.

Much light, high luminous flux.

Safe for the eye.

Long operating time.

Reliable and maintenance-free batteries

Lightweight solution.

Affordable.

THE ULTRA2

The engineers did exactly that: all requirements were met. Operating time of eight hours with maintenance-free batteries which last – as past experiences show – at least five years. 3200 lumens in a wide beam and only 5,5 kg.: the best rechargeable lamp was born. Instead of using one large possible blinding LED, the Ultra2 – as it was named has 91 smaller LEDS and is fully photobiological safe.

WHICH CHOICES IN ATEX CERTIFICATION?

Zone 0 was discussed but did not make it: Certification should be for zone 1 and 2, as zone 0 is actually for inspection work and does not allow the same amount of Illumination. Further, especially with the increasing importance of hydrogen gasgroup, IIC and temperatureclass T4 makes it a versatile and safe product.

WHAT ABOUT SUSTAINABILITY?

It is not just a lamp: it is about the choices made.

This development leading to a robust piece of long lasting and easy to maintain equipment with first class materials is a way to illuminate in a responsible way. Also, to avoid cargo and its consequences we at Atexindustries are proud to say that the lamp is produced locally in the Netherlands and yes that includes the LED drivers built by NDF.

AND THE RESULT IS?

A new work light, a rechargeable floodlight, was put on the market. We have customers in the petrochemical industry, aeronautical industry, with shipping, or in maintenance jobs, cleaning jobs or for emergency support.

ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT?

Yes: beginning the operating time will not be eight (8) hours, but tweleve (12) hours! Same model, same accessoiries. Only an operating time of full 100% power of 3200 lumen during twelve hourse!
