Dynamotor De Coster

About Us

Founded on an industrial heritage dating back to 1905 by Joseph De Coster, Dynamotor is a Belgian manufacturer specializing in the design and production of custom, high-tech electric motors.

For over a century, our company has stood out as the preferred partner for demanding industries by developing tailored electric solutions where standard products fall short. With full mastery of the manufacturing process (from our integrated aluminum foundry to precision winding), we have developed more than 22 distinct winding families and delivered over 3,000 specific configurations since 1990.

Our motors and gearmotors power cutting-edge sectors worldwide:

Infrastructure & Transportation: Railway switching systems (Infrabel, Siemens), fire doors for the European Parliament.

Defense & Security: High-security barrier systems for NATO.

Medical & Industry: Ultra-silent motors for kidney dialysis (Culligan), pool cleaning robots, and heavy-duty lifting equipment.

International Entertainment: The world's first submersible motors for the Cirque du Soleil in Macao.

Our values

Continuous Technological Innovation: From our founder's first 37 patents to our ongoing investments in CNC, CAD-CAM, and rotor-integrated torque-limiting technologies, innovation is in our DNA. We actively collaborate with leading universities to pioneer tomorrow's technologies (such as wind energy and advanced efficiency).

Customization and Agility: Every client has unique challenges. We specialize in engineering flexibility, adapting to global voltages and frequencies (including strict UL certifications for American and Japanese markets), extreme environments (Siberia), and complex mechanical architectures.

Absolute Safety and Reliability: Our motors incorporate critical safety systems, including controlled-descent safety brakes and specialized brake-motors for lifting. The robustness of our products ensures maximum uptime and performance for heavy-duty industrial applications.

Preserving Expertise: We seamlessly combine state-of-the-art digital production tools with the rich heritage of our technical archives dating back to the 1950s, ensuring exceptional traceability, long-term support, and product longevity.
