Exma Ltda. was founded in 1985 and has since specialized in the design, engineering, and manufacture of high-performance plastic and technologies for the global mining industry. Over the decades, our solutions have been part of some of the world’s most ambitious and technologically advanced mining projects.

Driven by a commitment to innovation and sustainability, we continuously develop technologies that optimize water and energy use. In 2012, we introduced Barrier Ball®, and in 2024, Covex®, our next-generation modular floating covers, both designed to deliver simple, effective, and long-lasting solutions to global water scarcity by minimizing evaporation, preventing contamination, and preserving water quality.
