Jakob Thaler GmbH

Who we are

The Thaler company was founded in 1964 by Jakob Thaler from South Tyrol, who brought the idea of mechanised cable laying to northern Germany. From this, a wide range of underground cable laying products developed over many years of experience. The standard production includes cable pulling winches, cable drum transport and laying trailers as well as cable rewinding systems. Based on the standard products, special machines for specific application techniques have been developed over time. Thus, for example, the Thaler pipe cleaning and pipe rehabilitation winches were developed from the tried and tested cable capstan winches.

Thaler cable pulling winches from the current range have a pulling force of up to 20,000 kg and represent the latest technical state of the art and comply with the regulations of the cable industry, telecom and power supply companies. The current Thaler cable transport and laying trolleys are designed for a payload of up to 50,000 kg.

The constant presence of employees on site enables the company to respond to and implement special requests. German service stations as well as international sales partners trained for service ensure optimal customer care.

In November 2022 , the Plumettaz Group took over our company.

Plumettaz, headquartered in Bex, Switzerland, is a world leader in the development, production and distribution of innovative equipment for underground cable laying in the telecommunications and energy industries.

The Plumettaz Group, of which we, Jakob Thaler GmbH, are now proudly a part, is stronger than ever to work on the biggest infrastructure challenges of our time. By combining innovation and a very strong trading network around the world, we can deliver efficient solutions for the digital and electrical transformation of the coming years.
