Who we are

Lasermet is a privately owned, UK company that designs and manufactures laser safety products for all markets, and provides laser safety services such as power meter calibration, laser safety training, laser safety consultancy, laser hazard analysis and risk assessments.

History

Lasermet has been providing solutions in the laser safety industry since it was incorporated in 1987. Lasermet’s Chairman, the late Bryan Tozer, was the person mainly responsible for developing the laser safety standard while working with lasers from the 1960s to the 1990s. This became the BS EN IEC 60825 internationally accepted laser safety standard now used today.

This expertise has enabled Lasermet to grow into the biggest UK based laser safety company, which is ISO 9001 certified and UKAS accredited to test lasers. Lasermet’s HQ is in Bournemouth and the laser safety cabin manufacturing facility is in Haydock near Liverpool and Manchester. With offices in Chicago, Illinois in the USA and distributors established worldwide Lasermet can rapidly provide laser safety solutions anywhere. Lasermet's R & D Centre is in the Philippines and is growing rapidly to produce a range of new and exciting laser safety products.

Products

Lasermet designs and manufactures laser safety equipment and systems such as laser safety interlocks, active and passive laser safety enclosures, laser blocking screens, curtains and blinds, laser beam shutters, and a range of smart, professional LED warning signs. The company also provides laser safety eyewear and filter windows.

Markets

Lasermet provides certified laser protection devices and equipment for hospitals, universities, research establishments, the medical industry as well as manufacturing facilities using lasers.

Expertise

Lasermet designs laser safety interlock systems and shutters to ISO 13849-1 Performance Level e, enabling the highest level of safety now required in many industries. Lasermet has great experience in its field and certifies its laser installations to the appropriate standard.
