About Us

MGS technology is a global leader in ultra-low power gas sensing solutions. We produce NDIR gas sensors for methane, hydrocarbons and carbon dioxide. Our energy consumption is significantly lower than that of closest competitors, being as low as 0.04 mW.

Our annual production volume exceeds hundreds of thousands units as millions of MIPEX sensors are already operating in portable and stationary gas detectors produced by leading manufacturers worldwide. Our production facilities are located in Serbia and the EU (Latvia).

The sensors have been certified for compliance with IEC, ATEX and CSA standards for use in equipment intended to operate in potentially explosive atmospheres.

ABOUT NDIR TECHNOLOGY

Dual-wavelength NDIR technology stands behind thе performance of ultra-low power gas sensing. MIPEX infrared sensors contain a spectrum-optimized LED, an optical system and a photodetector with a unique thin film design. An integrated smart controller with temperature compensation and data linearization algorithms ensures long-term stability of sensor readings across the full operating range: 10+ years of maintenance-free operation with no sensitivity drift. The UART digital interface is used for sensor communication.

The technology used in MIPEX sensors retains the advantages of ultra-low power consumption and consistent high metrological performance, while simultaneously avoiding the inherent problems of thermocatalytic and conventional optical sensors. Resistance to external factors, including catalytic poisons, makes MIPEX sensors ideal for use in harsh environments. Solid-state IR transmitter and detector utilized in MIPEX sensors provide high vibration resistance, which is important in underground mines.

ABOUT APPLICATION

The defining characteristic of the MIPEX sensors is power consumption as low as 0.04 mW which enables OEM manufacturers to build battery-powered gas detection devices with years of autonomous operation. This makes MIPEX the ideal sensor core for IoT and IIoT applications: remote monitoring nodes, wireless alarm systems, compact wearable detectors, and infrastructure-free deployments. The use of MIPEX sensors enables expansion of application boundaries and functional capabilities of stationary gas detectors and gas analysis systems, development and introduction of wireless, autonomous instruments and systems, including those providing a long operating period without additional maintenance.

MIPEX sensors measure hydrocarbons across ppm and LEL ranges simultaneously which is suitable for early leak detection and emission monitoring.
