TBM Co., Ltd

About Us

TBM is a startup committed to realizing a “Sustainability Revolution” through the development, manufacturing, and sales of environmentally conscious materials such as limestone-based “LIMEX” and CO₂-derived “CR LIMEX,” which serve as alternatives to plastic and paper, as well as through resource circulation initiatives, including the operation of recycling plants.

The company aims to contribute to decarbonization and the creation of a circular economy. TBM has participated in the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos, been featured in numerous domestic and international media outlets, and been introduced at international conferences, such as the G20.

“LIMEX” has been adopted by over 10,000 companies and organizations, including major domestic and global corporations.

Our values

LIMEX is characterized by its high environmental performance, enabling a significant reduction in the use of petroleum, water, and forest resources, which face depletion risks, and allowing CO₂ emissions to be reduced across the entire product lifecycle. Its main raw material, limestone, is abundantly available worldwide and can be sourced entirely within Japan, ensuring both stable supply and price stability. Furthermore, by consistently managing every stage—from material development to product manufacturing, and through to post-use collection and recycling—TBM has built a unique resource circulation model.

This innovative business is underpinned by the close integration of development and intellectual property, with basic LIMEX patents registered in over 50 countries worldwide. In recognition of these efforts, TBM received the “Intellectual Property Achievement Award, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry’s Commendation” in FY2022, among other accolades for its effective use of intellectual property. Leveraging these strengths, LIMEX has already been adopted by more than 10,000 companies and municipalities, contributing to society across a wide range of fields.

CR LIMEX is also an innovative low-carbon material that utilizes carbon recycling technology, using CO₂ derived from factory exhaust gas as a raw material. By embedding CO₂ into the material itself, it enables long-term CO₂ storage. In addition, the use of recycled plastics contributes to both effective CO₂ utilization and resource circulation, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and petroleum-derived plastic usage compared to conventional plastics. Notably, CR LIMEX achieved practical implementation in society approximately 15 years ahead of the target outlined in the Japanese government’s GX (Green Transformation) roadmap, making it a material with exceptional environmental contribution.
