Brief History:
1919 – Founded as a light metals foundry by W. Dan Bergman (WEDA = his initials). Produced household goods in Södertälje, Sweden.
1930s–1950s – Grew into one of Sweden’s largest foundries, supplying military parts and pumps.
1969 – WEDA became the largest employer in Södertälje with 700 employees.
1975 – Shift to cleaning technology began with our first swimming pool cleaner.
1981–1995 – Launched automatic pool cleaners (B600, B400), expanded to sedimentation basin cleaning and earned ISO 9001 certification.
1996–2007 – Developed VR-600, SD sludge collectors, and YT-800. Entered industrial basins and nuclear power cleaning (with Westinghouse). First orders from Veolia and major utilities.
2004 – Chosen as official supplier for the Athens Olympics.
2010–2018 – Evolved into a global provider of robotic sediment removal for tanks and reservoirs, driven by water scarcity and clean water demand.
