A refractometer is an instrument designed to measure the refractive index of a sample. The result is read on an appropriate scale, yielding the solution's concentration. It is commonly used in the food and wine industries (sugar content), as well as to measure industrial and petrochemical fluids.
TechnologiesA portable refractometer enables field measurements using natural light. It is simple to use, the result being read directly on a visual scale. Digital portable instruments replace the human eye with a photodiode matrix and display the result on a screen. This reduces judgment errors.
