Digital force gages on the basis of the strain gage technology provide new impetus for the areas of dynamic weighing, sorting, filling, and dosing. In addition to all relevant functions for standard weighing processes, the intelligent load cells also provide control functions for sorting, filling, and dosing processes. Using a RS 232 or RS 485 4-wire interface, all relevant data can be accepted as a filtered, scaled, and digitized output signal directly into the control system used. And that at a fast measuring rate of up to 600 measurements per second.

Hand Held Electronic Force Gauge
An ergonomically designed hand held force gauge.
ADVANTAGES
User comfort "'Ergonomically" designed - for ease of use
One piece unit
Very high accuracy
Swivel head allows access to difficult to reach positions
As with all splicer procedures, it is important to eliminate as many variables as possible in order to achieve optimum welding consistently over long periods.
Electrode force is one of the critical parameters in obtaining repeatable, reliable resistance spot welds.
Force can vary because of variable factory air pressure, water in the air lines causing air cylinders to deteriorate and loss of air pressure due to worn professional seals.
This self contained instrument uses a cell with a force transducer to provide accurate digital read out for auditing weld electrode forces.
Accuracy of this instrument is better than 0.2% and can be switched to read 0-2000 kg, 0-20.00 kN or 0-4400lbs.
In cases of difficult access the head of the swivel head gauge can be swiveled at least ±72º up or down and rotates at least ±90º. Once the desired position is reached it can be fixed by a simple hand tightened knob. A 90 mm long handle is provided for optional use with 2 mountain positions either in-line or at 90º.
A support wrist strap is attached to the gauge so that in the event that it is forced out of the operators hand by misaligned electrodes, it need not fall to the floor and be damaged. |
|
Faults in splicer tongs or incorrect process parameters in welding can result in production device waste or defective parts. Checking the industrial electrode force periodically permits spark malfunctions to be detected at an early stage so that repairs can be carried out in good time.
The new Type 9833A test sensor allows precise and reliable measurements to be carried out with minimal electrode gaps. The built-in charge amplifier simplifies the task of mounting and helps to ensure the reliability required by the automobile industry.

|
The quality of a spot weld depends on the force applied by the electrodes together with the value of the splicer current. For control programs, measuring the force applied by the electrodes is extremely important for maintaining constant production conditions. The Welding Professional tester instrument is designed for measuring the closing force on welding heads, which can be used either for setting up or for periodical maintenance. The tips are exchangeable for measuring the force applied by different forms of electrodes; the lowest closing dimension is 3 mm.
Different models are available for measuring 0–5000N up to 0-20000N. The new tool has all the ruggedness, quality and accuracy of the other tools in the CENTOR family, specially designed for taking “nomad” measurements in production shops.

| The MM-601A is an industrial electrode force measuring device for resistance welding devices. By changing the load sell sensor, it is capable of measuring from 0.20 kg to 950 kg (0.44 to 2111 lbs) of weld pressure. |

The forces which arise in industrial processes such a press-fit, punching or crimping often have implications for the quality of the final connection. Such forces can also be measured indirectly in terms of the strain occurring at the surface of the machine structure. This is often simpler than taking a direct force measurement, which requires the sensor to be built into the structure.
Kistler's new Type 9234A… strain professional transmitter with integral professional amplifier is fitted to the machine very simply by means of a single M6 screw. Thanks to its high sensitivity, accurate measurements are possible even with extremely rigid machine structures.
The robust transmitter is particularly suitable for use with professional presses and assembling line industrial robots.

HBM force transducers measure static and dynamic tensile and compressive loads - and virtually without any displacement. Force detectors can be supplied in the most varied of designs and classes of accuracy. Typical application areas include bench testing, e.g. force measurement to check material quality and automation technology, e.g. for monitoring quality during reshaping or bonding operations. HBM's own DKD calibration laboratory mirrors the company's competence in the area of force measurement.

| Honeywell Sensing and Control Force detection operate on the principle that the resistance of silicon implanted piezoresistors will increase when the resistors flex under any applied force. The sensor concentrates force from the application, through the stainless steel plunger, directly to the silicon sensing element. The amount of resistance changes in proportion to the amount of force being applied. This change in circuit resistance results in a corresponding mV output level. |

The shockproof digital load cell is based on a capacitive measurement principle where a non-contacting ceramic sensor is mounted inside the load cell body. As the load cell contains no moving parts and the sensor is not in contact with the load cell body, the load cell tolerates shocks, torsion, and very high overloads and sideloads. Therefore, the mechanical installation of the load cell can be done without expensive and complicated mounting kits and overload protection devices.
The electrical installation of the digital load cell is pure plug-and-play as the signal from the non-contacting sensor is directly converted, compensated and calibrated by a microprocessor to a digital load cell output in grams, kilograms, or Newton. Measurements and status codes are transmitted as RS485 data on a single professional wire inline cable (RG-58) which may be up to 100 meters long.
The technology and mechanical design of the Eilersen load batteries is covered worldwide by a number of patents. |
