ARNOLD-POWERLOK screws correspond to Property
Class 10.9. By slight carburisation an
additional increase of surface hardness is possible.
® ARNOLDPOWERLOK screws are fastening and
locking elements in one. They can replace mechanical
and chemical lock retention methods.
• Easy fully automatic application is possible
because problems due to locking elements
getting caught are prevented.
• The locking effect is not reduced by temperature
or ageing (as is often the case with chemical
systems).
• Feeding problems caused by rubbed-off plastics
debris on vibratory conveyors cannot occur.
® ARNOLD-POWERLOK screws provide strong and
safe connections. They offer the correct solution
when oscillation and vibration are involved!

Substitute the drive code for the ? and the length for the L In the part no. to specify the exact part required. The 30 deg. Flank angle and recessed core diameter of these thread forming screws for plastic have been developed following theoretical appraisal, exhaustive calculations and final proof testing. The 30 deg. Flank angle produces low radial forces when engaging the plastic, therefore resulting in less radial stresses, in other words the hoop stresses in the plastic bosses are less than those experienced with conventional screws. The recessed core geometry provides the ideal flow director for the displaced plastic, encouraging a uniform flow to fill the pitch of the screw without material jamming. This results in the maximum amount of plastic being engaged providing higher sheer loads due to the increased bearing depth of the thread. A combination of the above and the ease of penetration of the 30 deg. Flank angle through the material, encouraging plastic flow, reduces the torque required to drive the screw in. This therefore increases the margin between drive and stripping torque which minimises the potential of stripping during installation. The optimum pitch and maximum fill features provided by the recessed core results in a large area of plastic to be sheered prior to screw failure in tension. This creates a high resistance to pullout loads.

Our more than 36 years’ experience on the market for stainless steel fasteners is brought to bear with particular force in this product segment.
All of the articles with relevance to fastening technology – from the traditional screws and nuts in thousands of individual models, through washers, retaining rings and keys in many versions, right up to bolts, split pins and rivets in just as many variations – can be delivered.
Both the parts standardized in accordance with DIN or ISO and the non-standardized fastening elements (e.g. chipboard screws, mushroom head screws, washers) are available.
Stainless steel remains the material of choice for most of the Lederer customers. Hardly any other material can boast its defining properties, such as corrosion resistance, long lifespan and non-magnetizability. And not least, the optical impression made by a mirror-fi nished stainless steel fastener infl uences the choice of material more often than one would suppose.

Threaded bolts to DIN 1445 are available in standard or stainless-steel versions with diameters from 8mm to 20mm.
The best example of an ideal area of application is the conveyor belt. The seat of the roller bearing is often secured with a stud bolt. There are good reasons for this. First of all a stud bolt is easy to install. It only needs to be secured on one side, for example, with a nut. Secondly it is absolutely free from twisting and in addition has smaller tolerances than its “smooth brothers“. This guarantees reliable guiding of the belts.

The CLUFIX-STUD™ insert is an ideal solution for the blind installation of studs on thin sheets or profiles.
In the same way as a rivet, CLUFIX-STUD™ allows the assembly of two or several workpieces - whilst still offering a stud function.

STUDFIX™ is a stud designed to be crimped to achieve a screw function on metal sheet of any thickness.
For this type of component , crimping is carried out using a press. The groove located under the bosses receives the material of the metal sheet, which flows under the effect of the pressure exercised on the head.
STUDFIX™ thus offers high performance mechanical behaviour. Torque resistance is ensured by the anchoring of the bosses in the metal sheet, and high resistance to axial forces is guaranteed by the design of both head and groove.

CS Clinch Studs are a fast reliable method of providing captive male thread forms in thin sheet metal sections. Their ease of use makes them the preferred fastening method for all sheet metal work used in the computer, electronics, electrical and telecommunications industries. A simple squeezing action with a press and bottom die installs the fasteners into the sheet where they are retained due to the coining groove being filled with material during installation. The stud has advantages over the nut in that they provide locations upon which components can be hung during assembly, improving production times.

It is a quick and safe fixing system. It gives answer to assembling problems on plates, folded sheet-metals and thin walls, even when already painted. Self clinching are usually press-applied. They can be studs, nuts, stand offs or captive fasteners. They are available in steel, stainless steel and zinc plated steel.
