Used in the Bulk Solids Material Handling Systems, Bin Activators, also known as Live Bottom Bins, Shaker Bins, or Vibrating Silo Bottoms are used to create flow of dry bulk solids from vertical storage bins. The Live Bottom will overcome sporadic or irregular discharge problems created by arching, bridging, and rat-holing. The typical geometry on a standard 4:1 vertical round bin is a live bottom that is half the diameter of the silo.
How It Works:
Positive discharge or First In First Out (FIFO) Flow of the silo is accomplished by the internal cone-shaped baffle which is rigidly attached to the body of the bin activator. This vibrated cone, replaces a major portion of the standard fixed cone. The entire bin activator unit moves horizontally by the unbalanced weights of an attached vibrator. The cone baffle relieves the weight of the material from the lower section of the bin activator, and acts like a wedge as it moves beneath the material and pushes it in all areas adjacent to the cone's surfaces. This powerful force is also transmitted to the material in the upper portion of the bin as the motion is carried from particle to particle. Product discharges around the periphery of the baffle toward the outlet of the bin activator.

Vibra-Jet™
Bin Aerator
Model K Series 683
Restores material flowability at low cost
The Model K Vibra-Jet bin aerator, when installed on any storage silo, bin or hopper, can be extremely versatile and effective in getting dry bulk materials, like fine cement, to gravity feed more reliably at a very low cost. Materials which tend to pack, bridge or hang up can be made to flow freely and instantly upon demand.
Balances the natural negative pressures during discharge
Model K Vibra-Jet bin aerators installed at strategic locations on a discharge cone of a storage silo, bin or hopper direct high or low pressure compressed air along the bin wall to reduce the coefficient of friction which exists between the bin wall and the stored material. The compressed air, which is injected in short high-pressure bursts, fully balances the natural negative pressures created during the normal discharge process. By controlling the compressed air pressure and volume, materials once thought to be difficult to handle now gravity feed easily, quickly and automatically.

Syntron® Bin Vibrators offer an efficient, cost-effective means to maintain free flow of product from bins, hoppers and chutes, with a direct and positive result on the bottom line. Whether the need is to ensure constant, uninterrupted material flow, or to eliminate the necessity for manual manipulation of a bin, hopper or bulk material, Syntron Bin Vibrators increase productivity and reduce production costs.
Three types of Syntron Bin Vibrators - electromagnetic, rotary electric and pneumatic - provide, product flow solutions for just about any industry, application or environment. Compact yet mighty, Syntron Bin Vibrators are designed for years of high-performance, trouble-free continuous or intermittent operation, with the broadest selection of models and power ranges available.
- Syntron Electromagnetic Bin Vibrators are ideal for continuous or intermittent operation. An easily adjustable control assures optimum and variable material flow. Dependable Syntron Electromagnetic Bin Vibrators are virtually maintenance-free because the electromagnetic design eliminates moving parts. Most models come standard with fully-enclosed dust-tight and watertight construction.
- Syntron Electric Rotary Bin Vibrators are motor driven for reduced noise levels. These rugged bin vibrators are totally enclosed for reliable operation in dusty, dirty or moist environments. Adjustable eccentric weights allow easy adjustment of force to suit varying applications.

The MVSI series represents the line of reference products for manufacturer's of vibrating machines and plants operating in many industrial sectors and is made up of the largest range on the market, with centrifugal force values up to 26000 Kgf (254kN).
It is characterised by state-of-the-art technological evolution in the perspective of continual performance improvements. The MVSI-S02 series, now inserted for sizes 00-01-10-20-30-60-70-80-90 and 97, in the implementation phase on the entire range, represents another step forward in the sturdiness and reliability of the product. The MVSI series has been conceived to guarantee higher performance in all conditions and environments and complies with the most recent IEC and EN international standards for use in atmospheres with potentially explosive powders. In particular, the MVSI series can be used in areas 21 and 22.

The MVCC series of vibrators with direct current has been designed for use in those situations where network electricity is not present. In particular for hoppers, silos and gate-controls and roll-on roll-off vehicles (concrete mixers, pumps for concrete, plasterers, salt distributors, gravel spreader, fertiliser spreader, hauled silos, industrial sweeper filters). The newly-conceived electric motor, with permanent magnet poles, and the increase in size of the electrical parts, allow constant, high yielding performance.
The MF models have a multi-hole fi xing base to adapt to diff erent centre distances of drilling.

More than forty years of experience in the vibration of concrete products put the technical staff of SOMAI into the position to develop a wide range of electric motor vibrators, which satisfy the most extreme requirements of the producers of from works and prefabricated parts.
In addition to the vibrators operating with the traditional converters at 150-200 Hz, which can reach 4500 - 6000 - 9000 revolution per minute, have been realized special vibrators for operation with the modem electronical frequency regulators. These multitension and multifrequency vibrators operate which a centrifugal force ranging from 3000 to 9000 RPM.
The vibrators of the series VEP/VEM building are suitable for the continuous use 5/ and for 20 minutes of discontinuous use S2 under the heaviest conditions and in particularly humid or dusty environment.
They have all been projected. Constructed and thoroughly tested in the SOMAI works at Cisliano and are the fruit of long experience in the development of technologically leading machines and modern tools.

Magnetic vibrators are suitable as drives for vibration conveying conduits and pipes, vibrating filters, water-removal equipment, worm conveyors and vibrating tables. As impact vibrators for silos, bunkers, deflection grills, downspouts, chutes, filters and filling plants, they provide for a smooth material flow. Whether in the case of bunker settlement, draining, screening, dedusting or protection filter, whether with extraction of large volume quantities or in case of special tasks within process engineering, such as e.g. blocking, dosing, feeding, cooling, warming and drying, AViTEQ magnetic vibrators reliably perform their work in every case. Use our long-standing experience with vibration conveying technologies in all sectors.

The SOMAI external pneumatic vibrators are characterized by sturdiness, a long life, safety and a practical and simple use.
They are the best offered on the marker of pneumatic vibration.
Strict selection of materials, the anti-wear treatment, the most accurate execution and control are the guarantee of our vibrators.
Our vibrators are distributed in the whole world and used even under the hardest conditions, i.e. in very hot or very cold climates, in prefabrication works, in tunnels and readworks.
Special features:
- While the vibrator is operating there is the possibility to regulate the power and frequency of the vibration. This prevents the extremely dangerous resonance frequencies and allows to obtain high-quality manufactures with an excellent degree of finish;
- simple and safe fixing by means of cradle vices or bolts;
- execution without bearings (free rotors); the moving parts are of special steel and treated against wear so that they require very little maintenance and reach a long operation life;
- operation with compressed air, which guarantees the highest degree of safety and accident prevention.
