The L-700 Spindle Alignment System has been helping Detroit build quality automobiles for over 10 years. Prior to the L-700, transfer lines were aligned with indicators and alignment bars. This often resulted in frequent shutdowns due to poorly aligned spindles causing premature tool wear. Poor alignment also resulted in high reject rates, excessive downtime and poor productivity. On one line alone, the L-700 was able to save one GM plant $1.2 million in reduced tooling costs and downtime in the first year of operation after laser aligning the whole transfer line.
The L-700 can also be used for aligning the critical components of a lathe, aligning spindle boxes of large rotary dial machines, aligning the output shaft to the centerline of a twin-barrel extruder and many other applications. When combined with our P-405 Remote Optical Square, the L-700 can also easily measure cross-slide squareness on a lathe

Fixturlaser XA features
3-D color animations give express results
The whole alignment process is shown on the screen, using 3-D Macromedia Flash animations that are simple to comprehend and will give you an alignment jump-start when using Fixturlaser XA. Figures and arrows show the measurement results and any requirement for alignment. Color coded values simplify and speed up the interpretation of the results.
Wireless data transfer
Wireless transmitters allow the elimination of wires connecting the transmitters-detectors to the display unit. They also increase your mobility to move around with the display box in your work place, which comes in handy when you measure the machine couplings at one place and make alignment adjustments at another.
Express mode
When you turn the shaft, the system registers the three measurement points automatically - the Express Mode. It takes you through the measurement and alignment process faster compared to the traditional methods, such as the Tripoint Method and the Clock Method.
Comment from the field:
Jacob Nørgaard Andersen, Head of sector service technology, Siemens Wind Power A/S, Denmark
"We have many people using the Fixturlaser XA system and therefore it is very important for us that it is easy to use. The menus are very user friendly and easy to command. We have been able to minimize the time spent on alignment by our fitters after the introduction of the laser alignment of our generators. At the same time the accuracy has improved, and there is not much depending on the specific experience and knowledge of the fitter. Fixturlaser XA alignment equipment has become one of our standard tools."

Easy-Laser® D160 BTA is attached in a few seconds (magnets) with the laser transmitter on one of the sheaves and the detector on the other. The transmitter generates a laser plane parallel to the reference sheave. The detector reads the position in relation to the laser plane and provides a live digital display of both offset and angular value. This makes the alignment of the adjustable machine very simple. The accuracy of the digital readout also means that you can align within prescribed tolerances and rely on the result.
The separate display unit makes it all even easier, as you can read off and follow the adjustment at the precise point on the machine where the adjustment is made. The display is also backlit for optimum visibility in poor lighting conditions.

The Fixturlaser PAT will be the final solution to all your belt alignment needs
With the Fixturlaser PAT, you are never in doubt on whether your belt transmissions are aligned or not. By using the groove as reference, you will achieve a precise alignment which reduces belt wear, bearing failures and vibrations.
The Fixturlaser PAT comes with two line laser transmitters, each equipped with two spring loaded guides which fit into the pulley grooves. The Fixturlaser PAT is equipped with various sized removable guides to fit standard sheave sizes A-E (6 mm - 40 mm). Additional guides for alignment of timing belts are avilable as accessories.
The use of two laser transmitters with integrated targets, makes it very easy to find out what kind of alignment that is required. Parallel offset, angular error and twist are instantly visible to the operator. Within a few minutes, the operator can determine if the machine requires alignment or not.
The alignment process is as easy as the mounting. Just turn on the lasers and look at the opposite mounted unit. The laser draws a line on the target label as in the illustration below. If necessary, adjust your machine position until the laser lines are aligned with the centre mark on both units.

The Fixturlaser Dirigo puts laser alignment accuracy within reach of everyone! The ergonomically designed control unit fits comfortably in one hand. The live display means that you will get instant feedback when shimming or moving the machines. This eliminates the guesswork and back and forth you're suffering through now. All this at an affordable price that means a really quick payback.
Fast, Easy, Precise
The Fixturlaser Dirigo features a unique laser line instead of the traditional laser dot. This makes setup and alignment much easier, as the line is wide and is easily projected to the laser detector.
The Fixturlaser Dirigo also features graduated labels on the laser heads that work with the laser lines, to help the operator "visualize" the misalignment condition. This visual cue reinforces the digital values that are displayed on the unit, and makes evaluation and correction of misalignment an easier process. This is very useful when performing rough alignment. The alignment data is continuously updated. All movements of the motor are simultaneously displayed on the screen. The measurement results are displayed with a resolution of 0,01 mm. As you shim or move the machine, the values will be updated to let you know exactly where you are at each step of the way. This means no more guessing about the shim amount, or how much to move a machine. With the Fixturlaser Dirigo laser alignment system there is no interpreting of the values as with dial indicators. The position sensitive detectors precisely measure the misalignment. The large LCD display clearly presents the position of the machinery being aligned.

Fixturlaser GO Features
Several of its features are adopted from the innovative Fixturlaser XA system, which will reduce the time spent on pre-alignment actions, measurement registration, performing the actual alignment, remeasuring to make certain that you have a correctly aligned machine; and, finally, documenting the measurement data.
The pre-mounted fixtures speed up mounting and packing of the fixtures.
Other characteristics facilitating the handling of the system are the icon based user interface, a typical Fixturlaser trademark, now used in our systems for more than 15 years.
The measurements can be transferred to a PC by connecting the display unit to the USB connection. When connected the display unit appears as a mass storage device in your PC. Files are then easily transferred using the Explorer on the PC.
The CCD technology used in the measurement units’ extra large detector area (30 mm)minimizes or, in most cases, eliminates the need for rough alignment. This technology also makes it possible to suppress ambient light and it rejects side spots that might interfere with the accuracy of the measurement values.
Line laser combined with the CCD, renders the laser adjustment easier than ever. The measurement units will always be in the right position sideways, and vertical adjustments are easily done by unsnapping the measurement units’ snap-on fixtures.
The three LED lights on the display unit indicate whether the couplings are within tolerance (green light), within double tolerance (orange light), or out of double tolerance (red).
