Pipes out of polyethylene may be applied across the range of high energy radiation. Pipes out of PE are well established for drainage of radioactive sewage water from laboratories arvj as cooling water piping systems for the nuclear energy industry. The usual radioactive sewage waters contain beta and gamma rays. PE piping systems do not become radioactive, even after many years of use.
