QUIETSHIELD™ EMI/RFI Gaskets maintain shielding effectiveness (SE) across a seam or gap in the electronic equipment's shielding material. They consist of metalized fabric wrapped around a neoprene elastomer core. This provides a low cost solution, which allows you to utilize many material combinations and product designs never before practical. QUIETSHIELD™ gaskets provide unique solutions to your most stringent shielding, grounding, ESD and packaging requirements. It's the cost-effective avenue for creativity in design. Profile gaskets are currently available in four shapes: 'D', 'R', 'L', and 'P'. Spectrum's proprietary manufacturing method for making profile shielding gaskets is also ideally suited to custom profiles. New shapes and sizes can be manufactured with minimal lead times and low tooling costs. Changes can be easily made to the rubber core material, type of fabric or foil covering, and adhesive systems. Fabric over foam gaskets are made of a resilient foam core, bonded over with conductive fabric. More than 70 different profiles offer unlimited selection for any application. Some profiles contain rigid inserts. Metallized conductive fabric bonded to resilient core (available in urethane foam, neoprene sponge) offers a good shielding efficiency and works as a seal to block air, light and dust.

Profile and Input/Output (I/O) EMI shielding gaskets are available in UL94 V0 and HB flame retardant material. Laird Technologies specializes in quick turnaround of custom shapes and sizes of EMI shielding gaskets. Profiles can be cut to specified lengths, kiss-cut release liner or mitered to form frame configurations.

When your designs require EMI gaskets that exhibit high attenuation and low closure force, Metex Conductive Fabric gaskets are an ideal choice.
By combining a soft core with conductive fabrics, we have created a gasket that will provide >65 dB attenuation at 1 GHz, and compression loads under 4 lbs. per inch at 25% deflection. Low compression forces allow for lighter, less expensive enclosure designs.
Conductive Fabric gaskets are the ideal gaskets to use with conductive coatings that can be scratched or damaged by other more abrasive gasket materials. The conductive fabrics available include abrasion-resistant copper and nickel. |

Metex connector gaskets provide EMI shielding and environmental sealing for a wide array of connector types - including aluminum wire cloth, nickel copper alloy, aluminum and silver plated glass in connector shell sizes from 6-16".
When a connector gasket is installed between the mounting flange and an enclosure bulkhead, the gasket is compressed between the two surfaces. The elastomer provides environmental sealing, and the conductive substrate or particles embedded in the elastomer creates a low impedance electrical path between the mating surfaces.

| A composite of metal sheeting impregnated with an elastomer to yield a highly conductive, yet resilient Gasketing material for EMI/RFI shielding as well as an environmental seal. A selection of Woven aluminium wire, expanded aluminium or monel sheet impregnated with silicone, fluorosilicone or neoprene rubbers are available. Expanded Monel wire is also available without the elastomer filler for use in applications where an environmental seal is not necessary. Elastomer core gaskets are made of a resilient rubber core,
knitted over with layers of wire mesh (the standard is two
layers). The knitted wire element provides EMI shielding
effectiveness, while the elastomer core enables the gasket
section to recover more readily, following repeated
compression. Elastomer core gaskets are used where the
application requires a conformable EMI seal and even where a
dust protection is needed. |

| Connector Gaskets are seamless EMI die cut flange seals in an assortment of materials and thickness. Selection of material is dependent upon shielding and pressure sealing requirements. Standard industry shell sizes with holes or U slots or custom sizing is available. Connector gaskets are used for military or commercial applications. |

| Alco Metal Mount is a rigid EMI aluminum strip with a wire mesh and or elastomer gasket secured into the groove of the extrusion. Alco-Knit gaskets are supplied in standard wire alloys in several configurations and size to meet specific shielding requirements. Alco-Knit Elastomer Core gaskets may be applied for environmental pressure sealing. Alco-Knit or Alco Elastomer Core gaskets may be applied in any combination to one or both sides of the strip. Alco Metal Mount strips are fabricated with specific hole size, location, slots and countersinks for alignment. Ready-to-mount strips are attached with rivets, fasteners or spot welded to flange surfaces. Lengths range from two inches to eight foot lengths and come in multiple profiles. Strips are supplied unfinished or Chromate Coated per MIL-C-5541 Class 1or 3 to enhance shielding performance and corrosion resistance. Alco Metal Mount Strips add structural strength to enclosures and perform as a positive compression stop where a rigid gasket is required. |
