Thermofoil heaters are thin, flexible heating elements consisting of an etched foil resistive element laminated between layers of flexible insulation. Since their introduction by Minco over 45 years ago, Flexible Thermofoil heaters have demonstrated significant advantages over conventional electric heaters.
Precise Heating :
Thermofoil heaters put heat where you need it. You simply apply them to the surface of the part to be heated. Their thin and Flexible profile gives close thermal coupling between the heater and heat sink. You can even specify profiled heat patterns with higher watt densities in areas where heat loss is greater.

PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) inks.
The resistors, which are silk printed with these inks, are not constant, but display a substantial increase whenever the temperature rises.
This behaviour leads to a reduction of the heat produced, when a higher temperature is reached.
This feature is very important especially as far as safety of use is concerned, because resistors of this type are self-limiting. |

The hotflex® is worldwide the first tubular heater which can be manually bent in all three dimensions. Easiest handling, simple assembly, optimal thermal features and the simple storage (the hotflex® is supplied in straight condition with numerous lengths from stock) are outstanding product arguments.
The three dimensional bending of the hotflex® enables _towards the traditional heating (e. g. with hotrod® cartridge heaters type HHP) high flexibility.
With applications such as outline heating a better heat transition, considerable savings of the tool mass, replacements as well as lower energy consumption can be achieved.

| Tubular heating element use consolidated and established technologies utilising a spiral of resistive wire immersed in MgO compressed and protected by a metallic sheath. Tubular heating elements after annealing can be shaped to many geometries depending on the heating needs and foot print available, their advantages are: |

Flexible Thermofoil™ Solutions for Heating
Thermofoil™ heaters are thin, flexible heating elements consisting of an etched foil resistive element laminated between layers of flexible insulation. Since their introduction by Minco over 45 years ago, Flexible Thermofoil™ heaters have demonstrated significant advantages over conventional electric heaters.
Precise Heating
Thermofoil™ heaters put heat where you need it. You simply apply them to the surface of the part to be heated. Their thin and Flexible profile gives close thermal coupling between the heater and heat sink. You can even specify profiled heat patterns with higher watt densities in areas where heat loss is greater.
Faster Warmup and Longer Life
The flat foil element of Flexible Thermofoil™ heaters transfers heat more efficiently, over a larger surface area, than round wire. Thermofoil™ heaters, therefore, develop less thermal gradient between the resistive element and heat sink. Heaters stay cooler. The result is higher allowable watt densities, faster warmup, and prolonged insulation life. Thermofoil™ heaters can safely run at wattages twice those of their wire-wound equivalents. Insulation life may be ten times greater. For high levels of reliable heat, the obvious choice is Flexible Thermofoil.
