A luminance meter measures the brightness of a light source, be it emitted or reflected light, per unit area. This photometric value depends on the sensitivity of the human eye.
The luminance meter can be used to test the brightness of any light source: individual bulbs, lighting systems, roadside indicators, LEDs, LCD screens, etc.
In addition to traditional luminance meters, there are colorimeter models designed to measure the color (RGB) of the light source, as well as its intensity.
