Anton Paar now offers a new instrument for microwave-assisted organic synthesis. The new Synthos 3000 is specially designed for the production of chemical compounds in the multigram range.
Two powerful magnetrons (1400 W) generate a homogeneous microwave field and allow the rapid heating of sample volumes up to 1 liter. Microwave protocols which have been optimized on a small scale can therefore be reproduced easily on a larger scale. Direct scalability and excellent reproducibility are ensured for a wide range of reactions.
The reliable reaction vessels can be used at temperatures up to 300 °C and pressures up to 80 bar. Synthos 3000 therefore opens new dimensions for organic synthesis. Rotor systems for 8 and 16 vessels enable parallel syntheses and increased sample throughput. Precise temperature and pressure measurement guarantees optimal and safe reaction progress. Practical accessories simplify special applications such as solid phase synthesis or the use of gaseous reaction partners in the microwave field.
Instrument safety is the number one priority at Anton Paar. For this reason, Synthos 3000 is equipped with numerous safety features which reduce the risks of the consequences of using large amounts of chemicals in the microwave field. |

The reaction vessels, rotors and accessories can be adapted to meet individual requirements.

The newly developed microwave system, VHM HEPHAISTOS, is an internationally patented system and characterised by a very high field homogeneity.
The high field homogeneity allows for the manufacture of high-quality CFC aircraft structures, for instance.
Advantages:
Reduction of production costs due to shorter heating, process and cooling times compared to conventional methods. Use of metal parts (e.g. metal tools and charging systems) possible in the microwave field
Specific volumetric heating of products; the professional furnace chamber itself is not heated
Sizes from laboratory up to large scale (e.g. aircraft industry) are available (working chamber volume of the shown systems 750 and 4200 ltr); other sizes upon request
