Magna Torque (MT) for Backstopping and Indexing
Hilliard’s line of overrunning clutches is economically priced and ideally suited for backstopping and gearbox applications. Custom designs and rapid prototyping are available.
Roller Ramp (MTR) for Clutch Couplings, Dual-Drive & Turning Gear
There is almost no wear during freewheeling operations in the Hilliard roller-ramp designed clutch because rollers are free to rotate between the outer member and the inner cam. Typical applications for this clutch are blowers, pumps, fans, conveyors and forming rolls.
Enclosed Overrunning Clutches
Hilliard’s enclosed overrunning clutch incorporates superior MTR design in a totally enclosed package. Designed for power transmission operations, this clutch is totally contained in a stationary housing for constant protection from hostile environments or washouts.
High-Speed Overrunning Clutches
The Hilliard high-speed overrunning clutch provides positive engagement and high torque on demand. Featuring a unique roller-ramp design, the clutch when engaged transmits power via the precision-machined cam and roller assembly connected to the input shaft. Typical applications include hydraulic, electric, and pneumatic turbine starters; turbine drives, and turbine auxiliary drives.

Marland Clutch brings to the North American market a line of proven sprag type free-wheel clutches. Marland utilizes the knowledge of its sister divisions, Stieber® of Germany and Formsprag® of the United States, to manufacture world class high performance sprag clutches in the United States.
The RMS, RMT and RMI model freewheels include ball bearings and seals. These self-contained freewheels have a bolt circle on their outer race (see dimension "B") to which pulleys, gears and torque arms can be mounted. The freewheels are mounted onto shafts which may be of any diameter up to and including the maximum bore shown below. Keyways are provided.
|
|
Features:
- Rugged cam clutch designed for applications where space and weight are factors in clutch selection
- Full complement of cams held in outer races
- Input shaft used as inner race must be hardened and ground to size
- Interchangeable with competitor products
- Bearing support and lubrication required

- In this product group all versions are self contained. This means that the one way clutch is supplied complete with the necessary bearing support as well as lubrication and sealing.
The supporting bearings may be plain for low overrunning speeds but are usually of the deep groove ball bearing type for medium to high speed overrunning.
For very high powers and speeds the clutch can be supplied in a foot mounted housing.
Lubrication is normally by oil but may be grease in certain cases.
|
|
The different versions offered in this product group are based on a combination of a bearing and a one way clutch within the dimensional envelope of the considered bearing series.
The most popular model (CSK..) is built on the basis of the bearing series 62..... Sizes are available from 8mm to 40mm bore.
These units are available in many different versions:
- plain with ZZ type seal
- plain with 2RS type seals
- keyway inside with ZZ or 2RS type seals
- keyway inside and outside with ZZ type seals
A few other models are based on other bearings series like 59.. and 60....

CSK Series (One-Way Bearing)
The CSK model freewheel is a sprag type clutch integrated into a 6200 series ball bearing (except sizes 8 and 40). It provides you with a one way clutch, and eliminates the need for a ball bearing. It gives a high degree of freewheeling accuracy while utilizing a minimum of space.
The CSK model freewheels can be used in backstop, overrunning or indexing applications.
The CSK model freewheels are available with bores to 40mm (1.57") and torque ratings to 384 lb. ft. They are supplied filled with grease and are maintenance free.
|
|
The different versions of this product group provide only the one way clutch element.
The clutch inner and outer races must be supported and held concentric by the existing shaft bearings, which also need to absorb all axial and radial loads.
The system must include the necessary lubrication and sealing

Drawn cup roller clutches are one-way clutches comprising thin-walled, drawn outer rings with a series of ramps on the inside diameter, plastic cages, springs and needle rollers. They can transmit torques in one direction and are radially compact. The roller clutches are available with and without a bearing assembly.
Drawn cup roller clutches give very precise indexing, since individual spring retention of each needle roller ensures constant contact between the shaft, needle rollers and the clamping surfaces. They allow high indexing frequencies due to their low mass and therefore the low moment of inertia of the clamping elements. They also have a low free-wheeling frictional torque.
Drawn cup roller clutches can be used in a wide variety of applications, for example as indexing elements, back-stopping clutches or overrunning clutches. The drawn cup roller clutch fulfils the overrunning or holding function as appropriate.

Free wheel with a cage with contact elements running on races primarily measured in inches
|
|
|
Free wheels with bearing incorporated, with same dimensions of bearings series 6200, available in version ZZ and 2RS
|
|
In this product group only the clamping elements are supplied, assembled into a cage or retainer.
This must be mounted between supporting inner and outer races which may be formed directly in the customer’s component or machine.
The races should be manufactured from the correct material and to the required specification and the whole assembly supported by the existing shaft bearings which must absorb all axial and radial loads.
Suitable lubrication and sealing also have to be provided.

RINGSPANN freewheels are an essential design element in the machine and automotive industry as well as aviation technology. Concerning know-how and technology RINGSPANN belongs to the leading manufactures of the world. The freewheel as an automatic driving element is preferred to conventional solutions because of its decisive advantages offered in respect of
operating safety
economics
higher degree of automatisation.
|
|
SIAM-RINGSPANN irreversible lock enables free driving of any machine element in both directions of rotation but locks any reverse torque from the the driven element to the driver.
Application:
Locking devices for steerable wheels
Rudder and control-surface locks in ships and aircraft
Non-return locking in shut-off and control valves
Locking adjustable devices in position
Securing hatches and windows
Ensuring that railway signals and points remain at their settings
Ensuring that settings are held in hydrostatic pumps
Cam adjustments
Locking and manual adjustments of gate opening and closing mechanisms
Locking of trolleys in hoist equipment
Securing aerials against angular shifts
Locking horizontal ball-bearing mounted spindles
Locking manipulator equipment

Free wheels with cams to be incorporated with obstruction radial reduced.
Couples from 48 to 460 Nm for tree of diameter 20 with diamètre50.
They count rollers of blocking between a line of balls and rollers, to combine dynamic heads, static, axial and radial.
Without maintenance, autonomous, lubricated with grease for normal conditions of use, they are used to lock a step back or to place from one drive to the other in a kinematics to multiple order.
External dimension identical to the bearings series 59.
|
|
- Transforms an alternative back and forth pass into a movement in advance rotary step by step
- Precise and quiet Operation
- Technology of blocking:
- Has slopes or with cams to 68.000 Nm
- Standard of substitution for assembly instead of free wheels of various origins without modification of the installation dimensions
- To supplement with the components of connection of the customer
|
|
The transmission is involved in the 2 directions of rotation and is locked in position. The origin of the movement can be manual or electric.
The bidirectional transmission involves the transmission towards the right-hand side or the left. If the movement of entry ceases, the irreversible one locks the transmission in the position of stop and the movement of exit is neutralized in the 2 directions.
|
|
Placed between 2 energy sources, the oversteer one couples or disconnects whatever the differential speed.
It is a relayage simple, instantaneous, autonomous, without control.
To 360.000 Nm, the active elements are with slopes, cams.
Under casing, lubricated with oil or grease.
During launching out of high-speed, the oversteer one disunites and protects slow speed.
