Type HWT equipment is suitable for use on indoor or outdoor primary circuits where kVAR is required. They may be installed at various load centers or directly at the terminals of 2400, 4160 and 4800 volt motors. Units up to 900 kVAR are available. Permissible ambient temperatures are -40°C to +40°C. Discharge resistors included reduce voltage to 50 volts or less within 5 minutes of de-energization.

Description
Propivar capacitors are used to build capacitor banks for powerfactor correction on medium voltage networks. They allow by their different assembly combination to cover many power ratings depending on the insulation voltage, frequency and harmonic pollution level of the network.

The GEMTRAP® line of fixed, harmonically suppressed capacitors permits the installation of power factor correction capacitors on systems with nonlinear load components. The GEMTRAP® system can be tuned to any desired frequency but is normally tuned to the 4.7th harmonic.

Metal Enclosed Harmonic Filter Banks should be considered when power factor correction is desired in a harmonic environment. The filter bank consists of an enclosure containing power factor correction capacitors connected in series with iron core harmonic compensated reactors. The resonant frequency of the filter equals that of the harmonic to be eliminated from the power system. The capacitors, reactors and auxiliary equipment are installed in the welded galvaneal enclosure and are shipped ready for interconnection. The reactors are typically tuned to the 4.7th (nominal 5th) harmonic to reduce the more severe 5th harmonic current in systems with large amounts of 6 and 12 pulse non-linear loads present. Equipments for filtering other harmonic frequencies are also available. Our engineering staff can help chose the design and harmonic tuning frequency that best fits your specific requirements, including automatic designs.
