Application
The rotary paddle switch is used
for detecting levels of bulk solids
with a minimum bulk density of
100 g/dm3. Designed for use in
silos and bins.
Description
The RotaFox® MLS 10 rotary
paddle switch is a universal level
switch. The sensor and the
switching device form a single unit.
The rotary paddle is driven by a
synchronous motor via a reduction
gear. When the free rotation of the
paddle is impeded by material
covering the paddle, a microswitch
operates to generate an alarm
switching signal. Power to the
motor is then disconnected by a
second microswitch.
RotaFox® MLS 10 features a voltagefree
contact which switches when
the limit value is reached. The contact
transmits the signal to external
devices, such as electric flaps or
sliders, pumps, visual or audible
alarm units (e.g. alarm lamp or
horn).
When the level drops the paddle is
released and the motor will re-start
again and rotate the paddle.

The BRMX rotary paddle bin level indicator provides reliable point level detection and measurement of dry bulk solids in bins, tanks, silos, hoppers and conveyors for materials including grain, feed, plastic pellets, cement and aggregates. Mounted on the top or side of a bin, the BinMaster BMRX alerts operators when bins are full without the rigors and risks associated with climbing and continuously checking bins levels. When material is not in contact with the paddle, the paddle rotates freely. When the paddle comes into contact with dry bulk material, the paddle stops rotating and sends a signal – normally through the use of a horn or light – to alert that the bin is full.
The BinMaster BMRX features “de-energized” operation of the motor which shuts the motor down when materials is present, versus competitive rotaries which put the motor in a "stalled" condition. Power is not consumed until the bin is emptied and the drive shaft again begins to rotate – which saves on energy costs and prolongs motor life. It offers a fail-safe alert providing notification when power to the unit is lost. The BMRX rotary design includes a screw-top enclosure for easy access to motorized parts. It is CE approved and is appropriate for use in hazardous conditions when explosion proof protection is needed – featuring Class I, Groups C and D, Class II E, F, and G listings.
BinMaster also offers the Maxima+, an advanced rotary level indicator that offers genuine fail-safe protection via an LED indicator that alerts to the failure of power, the motor or electronics. For smaller bins and hoppers, the Mini-Rotary is an economical, compact rotary level control.

SITRANS LPS200 is a rotary paddle switch for point level detection
in bulk solids. The paddle switch technology detects full, empty or demand
conditions on materials such as grain, feed, cement, plastic
granulate and wood chips. The paddle switch can handle bulk
densities as low as 15 g/l (2.19 lb/ft3) with the optional hinged
vane or 100 g/l (6.25 lb/ft3) with the standard measuring vane.
A low revolution geared motor with slip clutch drives a rotating
measuring vane which senses the presence of material at the
mounted level of the LPS200. As material comes into contact
with the rotating paddle, rotation stops, which changes the microswitch
state. When the paddle is no longer covered by material,
rotation resumes and the relay reverts to its normal condition.

These are used for the maximum and minimum level in silos
and mill hopper which contain powder or grain material
which can be cereals, plastic material, sand etc.
In the “RL-A” series the paddle turns at low speed which
when in contact with material stops turning causing a contact
to switch.
In the “SM 85” series the functioning is caused by material
pressing on a rubber membrane which causes a micro switch
positioned internally to operate.

DF Rotary blade level indicators

DRO level detector
It is used to detect the level of any bulk products in all kind of industries thanks to numerous accessories, a robust casing and its easy mounting 2 wiring.
A gear motor drives the paddle rotation. When the product reaches the paddle, it makes a resistance couple which is detected. A dry contact is then activated and the power supply of the gear motor is turned off in order to preserve it. When the level of the product goes down, the resistant couple is equal to zero; the blade starts its rotation.

The new rotary pallet detector VEGAPAL RN 3000 is adapted perfectly to the detection of level of the pulverulent or granulous solids starting from a density of 15 kg/m3.
Its very robust design with metal case IP66 and three stages of sealing make a detector made of it to last in contact with your process. It profits in fact of a 3 years guarantee.
Its implementation is very simple: unspecified position of assembly, rotary case for correct orientation of the EP, without adjustment, maintenance.
The exit signal is carried out on a free contact of potential 250 VAC/2A/500W. The power supply exists into 230,115,48 or 24VAC and 24 VDC. A version ATEX II ½ D for explosive zones 20 dust is available.
