The DIN EN ISO 13849-1 machine directive tightens the safety rules for machines and equipment. In order to achieve the required safety integrity levels, the safety-related components of the control systems must, in some circumstances, be designed redundantly. To accomplish this, safety switches can, for example, be installed doubled or additional PLCs installed for monitoring.
Schaltbau offers an economical alternative with its S850 snap-action switches: the double break contact unites two safety switches in one compact housing. It is an elegant solution for control system constructors who want to increase the safety level without having to invest in additional hardware, installation or programming.
The S850 can simultaneously open two galvanically separated safety circuits with a delay of less than 3 milliseconds. The two fixed contact pairs are closed by one bridge each when inactive. The two contact bridges are attached to one plunger and therefore mechanically linked. As soon as the switch is actuated, the snap-action mechanism is activated and pulls the plunger and the contact bridges upward. If the contacts become welded together and the snap mechanism is made ineffective due to a short circuit, the positive opening levers push the plunger upwards so that both circuits can be opened reliably in any event.

Honeywell MICRO SWITCH™ Basic Switches
The switch is on. Our snap-action basic switch is simple, superior, durable, and irreplaceable. Globally compliant and known worldwide for their compact and lightweight design, MICRO SWITCH™ snap-action switches are designed for accurate repeatability and extended life. MICRO SWITCH™ Basic switches are designed for presence and absence detection where physical contact with an object is permissible. They also excel in applications requiring simple on-and-off actions.
The Premium families of MICRO SWITCH™ Large and Subminiature switches were designed for high-precision applications where the cost of a switch failing is high. Originally developed to support United States aircraft in World War II, advancements in packaging and operating controls have helped further expand applications over the past 75 years while maintaining enhanced accuracy and repeatability.
Our Standard families of Basic and Miniature switches include our V15 series, and are designed with the same high quality standards, but for low cost-of-failure applications — ones where the cost of replacing the switch is less than the total cost of a switch failing.

S Series Snap Action Switches
The S Series product group expands Eaton's snap action switch portfolio to cover all major amperages and operating forces.
A wide range of sizes and options gives customers the ability to select the most appropriate switch for their specific application.
Typical applications include computers, consumer electronics, small appliances, power tools, vending machines and packaging machinery.
Ultraminiature
The SC Series offers the smallest size with ratings of 0.1A and 3A.
A choice of operating forces, terminations and lever combinations is available.
Subminiature
Slightly larger than the SC Series, the SE/SEV Series offers more options in operating force, termination, and lever style. This series also offers a 1PDT circuit and a 1PST circuit with either NO or NC terminals. The SEV version
has VDE microgap approval.
Subminiature Waterproof
The SF Series is ideal for applications where the switch is subject to submergence of water or poor environmental conditions. It has one current rating and operating force but a variety of terminations and lever
combinations. A 1PDT circuit and a 1PST circuit with either NO or NC terminals is available.
General
The SG Series is the standard size snap switch with amperages from 0.1A to 15A, and a variety of operating forces.
With VDE approval, the SGV Series has a contact distance of larger than 3mm.
Low Torque
The SJ Series is the low torque series designed to meet applications where a light actuating force is needed.
A selection of operating forces and lever combinations is available.

The turquoise stroke switch ASQ is based on a completely new type of contact system. By using sliding contacts, an extremely high overtravel of 2.5mm is achieved at optimum contact force, which greatly simplifies the installation and adjustment of the turquoise stroke switch. Furthermore, the ASQ turquoise stroke switch is bounce-free and hysteresis-free. Thanks to its IP6K7 protection class, it is ideally suited for a great variety of industrial and automotive applications.
