Weldon tool holders, also known as Whistle notch, use a specific type of clamping system to hold the cutting tool in place.
These devices are suitable for milling, tapping, drilling, reaming and boring. They can be mounted on any machining center, depending on the taper type.
Weldon holders clamp the cutting tool in place using a radial screw which comes into contact with the cutting tool shank. The cutting tool must have a flat area on the shank for this system to work properly. The different taper types include HSK, ISO, CAT® and BT.
When selecting a Weldon tool holder, be sure to specify the taper type of your machine's spindle.
