Falling film evaporation plant for chemical wastewater
GE Water & Process Technologies
Vertical-tube, falling-film evaporators from GE Water & Process Technologies convert industrial process wastewaters into distilled water for reuse.
Evaporators reduce your wastewater discharges and can help you achieve zero liquid discharge. You can recover 95 to 99 percent of wastewater as high-purity distillate (<10 mg/l TDS), suitable for boiler or cooling tower makeup, NOx control, or plant processes. An RCC® Crystallizer or spray dryer can then convert the remaining waste to dry solids - which may have market value.
GE offerings include the RCC® Brine Concentrator, a type of falling film evaporator for treating waters saturated with scaling constituents such as calcium sulfate or silica. These systems recycle waste streams such as:
Boiler blowdown
Low-level radioactive waste
Mine drainage
Oilfield produced water
Plant drains
Pulp and paper liquors and wastewaters
Salty effluents
Our systems offer:
Energy-efficiency up to 30 times higher than single-effect steam-driven systems
Flexible operation on a variety of heat sources
"Twin spin" brine distributors that ensure a smooth brine flow and avoid scale formation
High reliability and availability
Effective scale-control technology
GE builds evaporators for flows from 5 to 1,000 gpm. Using an extensive chemistry database and design innovations built on decades of experience, we design reliable, cost-effective systems that give you maximum benefit.
