D type fuses

Fuses possess some unique features not offered by other protective devices. They interrupt short-circuit currents within a few milliseconds, faster than any other protective element and thus minimise the effects of the short circuit on all affected parts of the plant. The performance data of installed fuses cannot be changed, either deliberately or inadvertently, and mismatching or malfunctions are thus impossible.
