Friction torque limiter
Mach III Clutch, Inc.
NEMA Frame Torque Limiters from MACI-III are C-Face Mount mechanically adjustable, continuously engaged friction torque limiters that slips on overload. The torque at which it slips is adjusted by the means of a tightening/ loosening nut, which is locked by set screws on attaining the desired position. This product is unsuitable for belt drive (pulley output) applications and mounts between the c-face motor and gear reducer. It is used for momentary overload protection and are recommended not to be used in continuous slip or tension control applications, instead a SensiFlex® clutch or brake should be used. As models vary in maximum RPM, so datasheets need to be consulted and customization is possible in RPM to suit intended application. On slipping of torque limiter it requires no reset with factory set torque setting as per specifications and manipulation of torque nut is impossible without disassembling the housing. It is constructed with aluminum having a clear anodized aluminum/stainless steel housing.
