Specially developed for hardened steel, ultra high performance carbide drills for standard and deep holes up to l/d 30. Ideal for eliminating a pre-drilling process because a high quality finished hole can be made directly in the hardened mould material.
MHS drills have a specially designed "wave" type cutting edge and point geometry for improved penetration and a decrease in tool load, especially for extra deep hole applications. The other important faeature is the 25º helix angle of the flute, designed for ultra efficient chip clearance and extra strength compared to conventional flutes. Additionally, a new double margin flute is the latest feature to provide the highest accuracy, smooth chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes necessary for ejector pins.
