Description

The RSCI series is a centrifugal lift off sprag-type freewheel with the inner race turning. The model should be used with bearings to guarantee concentricity of both the inner and outer races and to support both the axial and radial loads. The unit accepts any type of lubricant currently used in power transmission machines. It can be mounted in gear-boxes without separate lubrication. The RSCI series is specifically used as a backstop. The unit can also be used as an overrunning clutch in crawl drives where the overrunning speed is at its optimum, but the driving speed is at its minimum, and does not go beyond the optimum driving speed capacity. When utilizes as a backstop, the overrunning speed must be evaluated, and should be greater than or equal to the minimum speed capacity.
