How to choose this product
The backlighting LED is an electroluminescent diode intended for use behind a screen.
The primary use of backlighting LEDs is for the illumination of liquid crystal diode (LCD) screens. They are also used in illuminated signs and industrial lighting. Most are white, but different colors may be used in signs.
Traditional LCD screens use neon backlighting. Their replacement by LEDs gives higher contrast and cooler operation. A matrix of over 1000 electroluminescent diodes illuminates the rear of the screen as a function of dark and bright zones, defining nearly 300 independent contrast areas.
How to choose
Numerous configurations are available, depending on the number of LEDs forming the matrix. For example, a Full LED system includes several thousand diodes, while an Edge LED layout uses only a few diodes around the edge of the screen and a reflective plate to illuminate the entire screen evenly. Required contrast and luminosity are important criteria.
