OverviewThe SOLIBA MS is a compact membrane level detector designed to control high and low levels in hoppers, silos and small containers. It also detects blockages and material build-up in chutes, screws and conveyors. The device is mounted inside the hopper and must be installed on the vertical wall for optimal performance.
Applications and materialsSuitable for free-flowing powders and granular products such as dust, flour, cereals, sand and plastic pellets. Recommended bulk density for best sensitivity: 0.3 to 1 t/m³. Operational range: 0.3 to 2.5 t/m³. Not intended for highly cohesive or sticky materials.
Operating principleThe detector is actuated by pressure exerted by the bulk material against the membrane. When the membrane is loaded, the micro-switch changes state and sends an electrical contact to the control system to stop filling or trigger an alarm. A spring adjustment with a locking nut allows sensitivity tuning: tightening reduces sensitivity and increases the force required to actuate the switch.
