Presentation
The ACS-certified ATS 165 EP float level switch is designed for permanent immersion in drinking water intended for human consumption and for food applications. It is manufactured from specific materials and supplied with an adjustable AISI 316L stainless steel ballast.

Main features
Biconical copolymer polypropylene float with omnidirectional detection and low fouling tendency. Wide switching angle provides smooth level control to prevent pump jerks and protect motors and electrical equipment. Fully manufactured in France.

Operating principle
Tilting detection: the float rises and falls with the liquid level and actuates an internal mechanical switch when the level reaches the set position. The three-core cable (COM, NO, NC) allows selecting the desired wiring mode. Can be used in pairs to control minimum and maximum levels in a tank.

Modes of use

• Drain mode: the switch starts a pump at the high position (anti-overflow) and opens the circuit when the tank is empty to protect equipment.
• Fill mode: the circuit closes (NC) at the low position to start the pump and refill the tank.

Installation and adjustment
The float is supplied with an adjustable ballast (AISI 316L stainless steel) to fine-tune the switching angle and detected level range. Ballast position and cable length between float and counterweight determine hysteresis (examples: min Y = 10 cm → X 45–50 cm; max Y = 30 cm → X 75–80 cm). The cable can be extended; the junction box must be watertight and located outside the tank.

Usage notes
Not recommended for very slow filling rates; in such cases prefer the AQUA or SOBA ranges. Avoid using clamps or elements that may damage the cable (risk of water ingress by capillarity).
