Ethernet-APL (advanced physical layer) is a ground-breaking technology that incorporates the advantages of the Ethernet protocol in process automation. The new solution that BizLink has developed combines the APL (Cable Category IV) standard, the SPE (IEC 61156-13) standard as well as the established PROFIBUS PA standard in a single cable. BizLink offers the cable, which is part of the FieldLink product family, in two different versions: As a trunk cable for distances of up to 1000m between the switches As a spur cable, which can be used as a connecting cable for a device with a length of up to 200m. Spur cables can be used in areas at risk of explosion Both versions have an outer jacket made of PVC for flexible laying and are highly suited to industrial applications.
