Product OverviewThe BBVM-FS10 is an ICP piezoelectric dynamic force sensor for vibration and modal testing. It measures dynamic tensile, compressive and short-duration impact forces. The center through-hole design enables mounting between a vibration exciter, test fixture and the test specimen for direct dynamic load measurement. Typical use includes exciter force control, modal analysis and mechanical impedance testing when combined with accelerometers or velocity sensors.

Operating PrincipleUnder dynamic loading the internal piezoelectric element generates charge proportional to the applied force. Integrated ICP electronics convert the charge to a low-impedance voltage output suitable for transmission, conditioning and acquisition with standard ICP signal conditioners and DAQ systems.
Typical Applications- Impact-force testing and modal testing
- Vibration-exciter force measurement and control
- Dynamic tension and compression measurement on mechanical structures
- Mechanical impedance and transfer-function testing
- Shaker testing rigs and structural dynamics
- Modal analysis when combined with accelerometers
Compatible Equipment- ICP signal conditioner
- Dynamic data acquisition system (DAQ)
- M5-to-BNC low-noise connection cable
- Vibration exciter and vibration control system
Installation Requirements- Ensure mounting surfaces are flat, clean and parallel for uniform force transmission
- Apply appropriate preload via the center mounting hole and avoid eccentric loading
- Align the sensor axis with the force direction
- Do not exceed the selected measurement range during tests
- Secure the cable to minimize cable-motion induced artifacts on the dynamic signal
