Characterization instrument

The Pull-Out instrument is used to run extraction testing of metal components, inserted either before or after the concrete is cast, to determine the material’s mechanical strength. The extraction test consists in taking part of the material to be tested using a metal screw anchor that is expressly housed in a hole. For this reason, the Pull-out Extraction test is classified as a «semi-destructive» test. The test is run by connecting the test bolt to a hydraulic jack which pulls it out when it is pressurised. The force measured by the pressure gauge is analysed and compared with correlation curves or other surveys to determine the material’s strength. On client’s request, extraction testing systems can be produced for different types of test dowel.
