Product Overview
The EC Sense ES1-HCN-5 Hydrogen Cyanide (HCN) gas sensor is a compact solid polymer electrochemical sensor engineered to detect HCN in the 0 – 5 ppm range. It offers long lifetime, no power consumption and simplified integration when combined with the EC Sense Smart Digital Board, reducing the need for manual sensor calibration.

Understanding the technology behind it
Solid polymer electrochemical technology uses electrochemical catalytic reactions to generate an electrical signal proportional to gas concentration. Unlike liquid- or gel-based electrochemical sensors, the solid polymer core prevents leakage and drying, increasing reliability for industrial deployments.

The inner workings of the technology
EC Sense solid polymer sensors incorporate three electrodes in contact with a solid electrolyte. Electrodes feature large precious-metal surfaces. As HCN diffuses through the porous membrane to the working electrode, it is oxidized or reduced and the resulting current is measured across the external circuit.
