OverviewManually regulated mechanical clutch composed of an axially actuated felt friction pad and intermediate springs to provide progressive damping and precise tension control. Recommended for winding/unwinding rolls with diameters under 300 mm.
OperationAdjustment is performed manually via a threaded system: rotation applies an axial load to the shaft through a fixed mechanism, a spring and the felt pad that generates friction with the rotating shaft. This arrangement enables fine tension regulation. For small-diameter rolls, brake adjustment is generally not recommended during active processing.
Assembly and variants- Cantilever (overhung) shaft configuration — assembly and exploded views available.
- Double-supported shaft configuration — assembly and exploded views available.
ApplicationsDesigned for manual tension control in winding and unwinding processes across industries such as packaging, printing, paper and textiles, especially for small-diameter rolls where compact mechanical regulation is required.
