The CrossScan 295/XVI is an automatic cross‑hatch cut rating system designed to objectively evaluate adhesive strength of coatings by image‑based analysis and software evaluation. It removes user dependency and assigns cross‑hatch values automatically according to the applicable standard.
DesignThe device comprises a handheld dome placed over the cross‑hatch pattern; it integrates a camera, LED illumination and a potentiometer for lighting intensity control (adjustable 5%–100%). Evaluation is carried out with the supplied evaluation software (PC not included). Direct or diffused lighting can be selected in the software to optimise surface contrast.
EvaluationAutomatic evaluation excludes the width of scratched channels and computes the percentage coating material loss within the defined area of the cross‑hatch pattern. Based on the percentage loss the corresponding cross‑hatch value is automatically assigned according to the standard specification.
