Product overviewSingle-tube rotary carbon regeneration kilns restore organically fouled activated carbon used in cyanide leach and other adsorption circuits. The design focuses on a simple, durable single-tube configuration with quality components to provide predictable reactivation performance and long service life.
What the kiln doesThe kiln heats fouled activated carbon at controlled, relatively low temperatures to volatilise or decompose adsorbed organic impurities, restoring the carbon's adsorption capacity. Controlled heating and subsequent cooling protect the carbon from thermal damage and enable safe return to the adsorption circuit.
Key benefits- Extends carbon service life through a controlled low-temperature reactivation cycle.
- Reduces operational cost: process utilises entrained moisture for steam generation and avoids pre-drying steps.
- Low maintenance: oversized rotating elements and low thermal stress design increase equipment lifespan.
- Simplified operation reduces requirement for specialised labour and shortens training time.
Carbon handling and ancillary systemsHandling systems minimise attrition and ensure consistent carbon quality: recessed-impeller transfer pumps, long-sweep elbows for transfer lines, and flanged or cone-bottom tanks with spray nozzles for complete extraction. A vibratory sizing screen separates fines and slurry to deliver appropriately sized carbon to the adsorption circuit. For circuits with mercury, optional mercury abatement systems are available to meet emissions limits.
Models and process optionsStandard throughputs range from 0.5 to 20 tonnes per day (custom larger kilns available). Heating fuels: propane, natural gas, fuel oil or electric. Multiple nominal throughput models and tube sizes are offered to suit site capacity and layout requirements.
