Product overviewOur EC series electrowinning cells are installed worldwide for gold and silver recovery, with over 200 units in operation. They provide efficient current distribution, safe operation, straightforward in-cell sludge removal and long service life. Designed to treat 15-80 gallons per minute (3.5-18 m3/hr) of pregnant solution, the cells are compatible with Zadra and AARL elution, high-grade leaching, intensive cyanidation, gravity concentration and some non-cyanide processes. Typical service interval: weekly for sludge recovery. Typical busbar voltage: 2.1 V to 5 V; typical current: 60 A to 90 A per cathode (higher amperage used for some high-grade solutions).
Key benefits- Safe construction: stainless-steel bodies with polypropylene lining, integrated exhaust plenum and durable electrodes to reduce fire and corrosion risk.
- Efficient maintenance: in-cell cathode washing using a portable pressure sprayer or installed spray system reduces service time by up to 75%.
- Flexible integration: multiple sizes, left- or right-hand orientation, vertical or horizontal flanges and a range of optional extras to fit existing refineries and applications.
Configurations and features- Stainless-steel cell bodies lined with polypropylene for electrical isolation and thermal insulation.
- Built-in exhaust plenum for off-gas capture and management.
- Stainless-steel anodes and cathodes for improved corrosion resistance and longevity; carbon and DSA anode options available for highly corrosive solutions.
- In-cell cathode washing capability (portable sprayer or installed spray system) to avoid cathode removal and speed servicing.
- Hydraulic-actuated lids to replace manual lid operation.
- Corrosion-resistant spray-in liners to extend life in chloride, sulfate and silicate-bearing solutions.
- Mercury abatement systems available for treating EW off-gas where required.
- Flexible mechanical configuration: left/right orientation and vertical/horizontal flanges for retrofit into existing plants.
Models / comparisonModel | Cell size (ft3) | Anodes / Cathodes | Rectifier Amps (A)
50EC13 | 50 ft3 | 14 / 13 | 750
75EC18 | 75 ft3 | 20 / 18 | 1000
Typical range | 50 - 150 ft3 cathode equivalent | — | typically 500 - 2500 applied amps per cell
Applications and performanceUsed with carbon ADR plants, carbon regeneration kilns, Merrill-Crowe systems, cyanide leach circuits and gravity concentration circuits. Operates effectively across a range of feed types and chemistries and has been used successfully with some non-cyanide metal-bearing solutions in addition to standard cyanidation processes.
