Overview
Gleason's modular workholding system is built from standardized modules to combine precision with application flexibility. The system supports internal diameter (ID) clamping, outside diameter (OD) clamping and between-centers clamping, and can be configured with or without a quick-change interface (Quik-Flex®Plus). Modular components are selected to match part geometry, interfering contours and production processes.
ID Clamping
The modular ID program covers internal diameters from 20 to 120 mm. Individual modules (mandrels, adapters, locating elements) are selected according to part features and interference limits. ID clamping is available in standard and quick-change Quik-Flex®Plus executions.
Quick-Change ID Clamping
The Quik-Flex®Plus quick-change interface enables rapid workholding changeovers while maintaining high repeatability. It is designed to minimize downtime for small- and medium-batch production and for setups with frequent part changes.
OD Clamping
For shaft-type parts, expansion chucks are offered in seven modular sizes covering diameters from 3 to 120 mm. Expansion chucks provide an axial pull-down effect and are compatible with common changeover devices. Multiple axial workpiece stops are available to support accurate axial positioning.
Clamping Between Centers
When ID or OD clamping is not applicable, parts can be held between centers. Precision centers in the standard modular program cover up to 180 mm diameter; other sizes can be supplied on request. Center-driven fixtures are available for high-torque or long-part applications.
