OverviewThe GTW-V50 is a portable, battery-powered thermocouple attachment unit that uses a capacitance-discharge method to spot-weld thermocouple wire to workpieces for temperature measurement during heat treatment. The unit provides operator-selectable energy and both automatic and manual modes for controlled, repeatable welds.
ApplicationsDesigned for field and workshop use, the GTW-V50 is suitable for attaching solid thermocouple wire in hard-to-reach locations and on components where the operator may require a free hand for safety. Typical applications include heat treatment monitoring, metallurgical testing and production temperature checks.
Features- Operator-selectable energy: 22–50 J
- Automatic and Manual operation
- Automatic mode: stripped-back TC wire held in pliers with magnet providing welding return; unit senses contact and performs automatic spot weld, then recharges
- Manual mode: TC wire held in pliers against the workpiece with magnet return; pressing 'Weld' initiates spot weld
- Compatible with solid thermocouple wire 0.5 mm–1.7 mm
- Rechargeable battery with low-battery LED indicator
- Auto switch-off after 3 minutes to conserve battery
- Maximum output voltage: 60 V
- Stainless-steel enclosure with shoulder strap and tool storage
- Supplied with pliers, welding return magnet and supply lead
- Available voltage variants: 110 V or 240 V
