OverviewGBM-L1 Vacuum Decay Leak Detection Tester performs nondestructive micro-leak detection on finished packaging using the vacuum decay method. It is suitable for integrity testing of pharmaceutical and sterile medical packaging such as vials, ampoules, HDPE bottles, prefilled syringes and other containers used in pharmaceutical, food and chemical industries. The method requires no sample preparation and does not damage the product.
Industry Standards- ASTM F2338-2009(2013) Standard Test Method for Nondestructive Detection of Leaks in Packages by Vacuum Decay Method
- YY-T 0681.18-2020 Sterile medical device packaging test method
- United States Pharmacopeia USP1207 standard
Test PrincipleThe instrument uses a specially designed test cell connected to the main unit. The test chamber is evacuated to create a pressure difference between the package interior and the cell. Gas leaking from the package flows into the test cell; dual-sensor vacuum decay measurement records pressure vs time and compares results to thresholds defined by the referenced standards to determine pass/fail.
