They are well-suited for any type of container weighing task as well as for large platform scales. Typical applications include the construction of truck scales. Unlike other load cells of this type, RTN load cells – due to the use of unique ring-shaped strain gauges – significantly minimize the effects of transverse and lateral loads. Their high input resistance and low power consumption enable battery-powered evaluation units to be used for taking measurements. The high-temperature version that is available as an option (up to 110 °C) is well-suited for use in the foundry technology. The RTN can be used in extremely moist conditions as well as outdoors, due to its high IP68/IP69K degree of protection. IECEx-ATEX versions are available for use in areas with potentially explosive atmospheres.
