Description

Overview
AERO is Hohner's new series of capacitive absolute linear encoders. Designed for system integrators and machine manufacturers, AERO measures absolute linear position on compact, high-dynamic axes using a passive, cableless readhead mounted on the moving element.

Key features
  • Ultra-lightweight passive readhead with no cables on the moving element, eliminating moving wiring on the carriage.
  • Simplified axis design by removing the need for drag chains or moving cable loops.
  • Wide installation tolerances for faster installation and reduced need for readjustments.
  • Capacitive sensing provides immunity to magnetic interference and robustness against vibration, dirt/oil and thermal variations.
  • Supports multiple readheads on a single linear scale for multi-carriage solutions or controlling several loads on the same axis.

Typical applications
  • Machine tools / CNC
  • Ball screw actuators
  • Linear motors
  • Multi-carriage systems
  • Automation and packaging
  • SMT pick-and-place
  • Laser marking
  • Medical and surgical robotics

Availability
