Description

Product overview
NEON Sonic (Non-Ex) is a battery-powered IIoT sensor for continuous acoustic (SPL) and process temperature monitoring of steam traps. It combines a probe acoustic sensor and temperature sensing with an external LoRaWAN transmitter module to provide early detection of blocked or leaking trap conditions while enabling scalable site-wide IIoT deployment.

Benefits
  • Continuous detection of steam trap conditions (blocked, leaking, healthy) using on-edge spectral analysis
  • Early alerts to maintenance and integration with DCS/SCADA or cloud backends for corrective actions
  • Extended maintenance intervals with long battery life for low total cost of ownership
  • LoRaWAN connectivity for wide-area coverage and easy scale-up across industrial sites

Key features
  • LoRaWAN transmitter combined with acoustic (SPL) and temperature sensors
  • Measures Sound Pressure Level (SPL), sensor/process temperature and ambient temperature
  • Edge diagnostics with steam trap fault indicator (blocked / leaking detection)
  • Typical battery life up to 14 years (19 Ah battery, at 25°C; environment dependent)
  • Process temperature capability up to 450°C with extension probe
  • IP65 ingress protection and wide transmitter operating range
  • Firmware update over the air (LoRa Alliance) and high security standards
