OverviewThe Pulsation Dampener from IMI Fluid Kinetics is an inline device for installation at the pump discharge of positive displacement pump systems. It reduces pump discharge pulsations by up to 70% by generating a rotating fluid mass within a spherical shell, stabilising flow and lowering system oscillations. The unit contains no moving or replaceable parts and is maintenance-free. Available in carbon steel or stainless steel with straight or 90° body layouts and multiple flange options for simplified installation.
Key features- Inline pulsation control installed at pump discharge
- Spherical shell internal design creating a rotating fluid mass to damp pulsations
- Up to 70% reduction in pressure pulsations to protect downstream equipment
- No moving or replaceable parts — zero maintenance
- Pre-labelled nozzles for simplified installation
- Multiple flange connection options (RF flange standard; other flanges on request)
- Carbon steel or stainless steel construction for body and baffle
- Straight-through or 90° body configurations
- Applicable ANSI/ASME ratings: ANSI Class 150–2500; ASME B31.1 / B31.3 / Section VIII Div. 1
- Temperature capability: -48°C to 343°C (page also references -50°C to 343°C)
- Up to 70% pulse attenuation
Applications / Benefits- Protects downstream piping, valves and instruments from pulsation-induced stress
- Improves pump and overall system performance and reliability
- Reduces life-cycle costs by eliminating maintenance and moving parts
