Description

ZKSB power-operated collet chucks are used instead of standard power-operated lathe chucks when working “off-the-shelf”. They are preferably intended as inexpensive, interchangeable chucks within the scope of a complete power chucking system. They are used for machining workpieces that cannot be optimally clamped with a power chuck. These include deformation-sensitive or surface-sensitive parts, bar stock and workpieces that are machined at high speeds. Both collets according to DIN 6343 and Rubberflex collets are used as clamping inserts, which are often available in larger numbers in companies and can therefore be used on an even wider basis. Heavy turning or grooving on OD of the part Roughing Grinding Finishing Stationary machining centers Accelerates up to speed faster, reducing cycle times and improving productivity Effect of centrifugal force is less significant, allowing for more consistent clamping force across range of speed 360° support of the part, tightening concentricity, reducing any chance of part slippage and ensuring barstock remains on centerline for concentric re-gripping while being advanced by the bar feeder Additional grip coverage reduces risk of deformation for tubes and thin-walled parts Reduced vibration Quicker set up time Improved accuracy Sealed design High-speed and high grip force Pull-back actuation for lateral location Modular design allows for interchangeability
